Meet The TLC Team

Steve Riches – Managing Director
Originally started out in the field of Engineering where he undertook an HND apprenticeship. He then moved into Finance, Sales Management and business management roles within the banking and recruitment sectors before setting up his own recruitment business in 2007. Over the years he has managed several business operations and now looks after the client relationship and business development activities for TLC.

 

Tony Riches – Technical Director
Tony founded the business back in 1990 after a successful career in the construction and engineering sectors where he held Director and board level appointments. His technical understanding has been gained due to the breadth of projects he has been involved in over the years and now oversees TLC’s operational activities in a Project Management role. However, he cannot completely let go of the tools and often allows his thoughts to wander to Spain where he would like to retire to – although please, just don’t mention it unless you have a morning to spare!

 

Nadine Caird – Financial Controller and HR Manager
Nade is one of life’s true Superstars! She manages TLC’s financial controls and brings a wealth of accounting experience and people management skills to the table. Along with managing the accounts and generating vital financial reports, she is responsible for legal controls and regulations. She is an integral part of the operation and it’s safe to say we really wouldn’t be able to operate without her!

 

Julie Stacey – Installations Manager
Julie’s background in workflow management within Estate Agency sector has provided the ideal platform for her role with TLC. Predominately responsible for scheduling the installations and arranging the team around the specific requirements of the job, she is a key person in assuring your installation runs smoothly. Her experience in dealing with vast detail whilst keeping in constant communication with the customers is a tricky balancing act for even the most seasoned of operations professionals but Julie is able to balance this with both flair and personality and is constantly praised for her customer focus and organised working methods. She is therefore highly valued and appreciated within TLC circles with both customers and the team alike.

Abbie Pratchett – Pricing Administrator
In an industry where strong customer service is paramount, the perfect finish and the right price is crucial. Abbie provides the necessary support to the operations team to focus on what we’re good at – helping customers! She controls the finances for each individual job from initial enquiry to final sign off, Abbie is a vital link in the chain between office and allows the operations team to focus on the front line activities and drive production on site. With an excellent academic background behind her, real character, flair and personality and the ability to get things right first time, Abbie is a true asset – especially when she brings in her home made cakes!

Siobhan McLeod – Operations Manager
Siobhan’s background, gained within the Retail Management sector, is one of responsibility and high achievement.
In an industry where service is king, her experience provides the ideal standing for her role with TLC which is to control the processes that make the business operate in the professional, efficient and customer centric manner – the focus being on getting it right in respect of our installations every time. Predominately Siobhan controls the HR, financial analysis and scheduling processes and has a keen eye for detail combined with a professional and friendly outlook on life. A great asset to TLC who continues to provide the support required to ensure you are another very satisfied customer!

 Tim Eve – Kitchen Installer
Tim completed his apprenticeship with a well know carpentry firm and has gained broad experience in the construction industry. He is an experienced and well regarded member of the team and specialises in kitchen installations from a wide range of suppliers and manufacturers. Tim is a very safe pair of hands and when it comes to your kitchen, that’s exactly what you need!

 

Jamie Devereux – Kitchen Installer
Jamie has 20 years’ experience in carpentry and joining. His skills are both exceptional and versatile; his repertoire is extensive, ranging from building timber frame homes to projects in London’s Houses of Parliament.  He is a true perfectionist and takes huge pride in his work. Jamie is one of the newest members of our team and has settled in brilliantly. He always brings a smile to those he’s around and we are proud to have him on board.

 

Steve Upton – Bathroom & Kitchen Installer
Steve has a wealth of skill and experience under his belt; he really is a master of all trades! He began his career training in mechanics and later moved into the construction industry. Along with carpentry and fitting, his skills extend to tiling and domestic plumbing.  Steve’s approach to a job is second to none; not only is his craftsmanship excellent, he demonstrates acute attention to detail and efficient problem-solving. His skill, coupled with his friendly and polite manner makes him an invaluable member of the TLC team.

Scott day – Bathroom Installer
Scott is a superb man to have on our team. He is an experienced in both installations and domestic plumbing and as such, a very valued individual. His dedication, craftsmanship and attention to detail are flawless. His professional standards are top-drawer and his work ethic makes him a credit to our company.

Jon Andrews – Tiler
Jon joined us last year and we are thrilled to have him as part of our team. He specialises in carpentry and fitting but his qualifications extend to plumbing and tiling and he is exceptional skilled in all these areas. Jon is patient and methodical and show great attention to detail. He takes pride in whatever work he undertakes and his standards are never compromised.

 

 

Steve Foster – Trainee Tiler
Steve is currently underway with private training courses and practical experience to become a full time TLC Tiler. Training under the TLC management is certainly not for the faint hearted but Steve is learning quickly and will have completed his training by late 2012. No TLC installation is ever the same so it’s vital that his experience covers all types of designs, configurations and materials including porcelain, natural stone, ceramics and glass.

Dave Skews and Jason Hubbard – Domestic Electrical Engineer 
Professional, qualified and accredited tradesmen are at the cornerstone of TLC’s operation and these guys are a very good example of just that. A friendly and hard working team, Jason and Dave undertake all of TLC’s electrical installations, upgrades and alterations. All of our work is fully certificated and registered with the regulating bodies and these two are a fast, efficient team who are a pleasure to have around.

 

Eddie Saliu – Painter & Decorator / Professional Finisher
Eddie is a true ‘Glory Boy’ and takes rightful credit for the transformation he creates around the final finishing and decorating of each TLC Installation. He is a genuine tradesman with an eye for detail who can make an interior door or skirting board look like a mirror once given his final touches. As any good decorator will tell you, it’s all in the preparation and his attention to this stage of the process pays real dividends once the final coats go on. If you are looking to totally transform a room, the interior or exterior of your house, an outbuilding or simply just freshen up – Eddie’s most certainly your man.

 

Fraser Gordon - Apprentice Plumber and Bathroom Installer
At just 20 Fraser is currently undertaking a plumbing apprenticeship under TLC’s Trainee Development Program in association with the Colchester Institute. Already an invaluable member of the team Fraser shadows our more experienced team members during Kitchen and Bathroom installations and is learning quickly putting into practice what he learns under the watchful eye of the Project Manager. Our commitment to him is to provide him with both practical experience and theoretical knowledge to allow him to run his own team once his training is complete.

Jimmy Pirie – Apprentice Plumber and Bathroom Installer
Jimmy is our newest recruit and has joined us as an apprentice plumber and assists predominantly on our bathroom installations. We are very pleased with his work and the progress he has already shown and can see a bright future for him. He is hard-working and diligent and demonstrates and organised and methodical approach to work. His enthusiastic personality makes him a delight to work with and he’s, without a doubt, a great addition to our team.
